Giving Clear Vision to 104 People – Spectacle Donation at Bellanthudawa Temple

By lions Club of BELLANTUDAWA ROYAL LADIES on 2025-03-27
Project Chairman : Sriyanthi Perera

We recently organized a special event at Bellanthudawa Temple, where eye checkups were carried out and spectacles were donated to 104 villagers who needed help with their vision. Many of them had difficulties seeing clearly and couldn’t afford proper glasses. With the support of kind volunteers and professionals, we were able to check their eyes and provide the right spectacles to suit their needs. This helped improve their daily lives—making it easier to read, work, and move around with confidence. It was a meaningful day full of care, kindness, and community spirit. Helping others in this way brought smiles to many faces and reminded us how small acts can make a big difference.

We were happy to take part in the District Women’s Day celebration held at Camilla School. It was a meaningful day, full of useful activities and programs focused on women’s health, beauty, and well-being. There were many interesting sessions, like women’s counseling, which helped guide and support us emotionally. We also enjoyed some gentle yoga exercises that helped us relax and feel refreshed. We learned important things like how to reduce the risk of cancer and how to use local herbs and natural beauty tips in our daily lives. There was a lovely segment called “Api Apima Vemu” that encouraged us to believe in ourselves and be strong, independent women. One of the highlights was the Ayurvedic beauty salon, where we got to experience traditional beauty care using natural methods. It was a wonderful day spent learning new things, bonding with each other, and celebrating the strength and beauty of women. We were proud to be part of it.

We were happy to take part in the "Green Infinity – Herali Ananthaya" project, a district-wide effort to plant 60,000 jackfruit trees. As the Bellanthudawa Royal Ladies Lions Club, we joined this special environmental project to help create a greener and healthier future. Our team helped plant jackfruit saplings at Regidel Watta, Kahapola, Madapatha. It was a great experience working together and doing something good for nature and our community. A Better Place to Practice

By lions Club of BELLANTUDAWA ROYAL LADIES on 2025-02-26
Project Chairman : Sriyanthi Perera

The girls at Prajapati Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Horana didn’t have a good place to practice long jump and high jump. The ground wasn’t safe, and it was hard for them to train or enjoy sports properly. To help them, the area was cleaned and filled with soft sand, making it much safer and easier to use. Now, the girls have a proper space to practice and improve their jumping skills. This small change has made a big difference. The girls are now more confident and excited to take part in sports. It has given them a chance to grow, stay active, and believe in themselves.
