Description

On the 9th of March 2025, the Lions Club of Boralesgamuwa Business Circle, Lions Club of Boralesgamuwa Metro, Lions Club of Mampe, and Lions Club of Batuwandara organized a Floating Waste Cleanup Project at Rumassala Beach, Galle. This initiative was focused on removing floating waste from the shallower areas of the sea, with the aim of reducing ocean pollution and preserving the health of the marine ecosystem. The project was led by Lion Prasad Gamage PMJF, PMAF, JP, District Governor of 306 A2, with the active involvement of key Lions leaders including: Lion Thilina, Region 2 Chairperson Lion Nalin Mapitiya MAF, 306 A2 M & C Chairperson Lion Dhammika PMJF, PMAF, LCI Chairperson Lion Nalinda MAF, Project Chairperson Lion Dilusha MAF, President of LC Boralesgamuwa Business Circle Lion Kanchaka, along with dedicated volunteers and members from all participating clubs.
