Minco High School, Elpitiya, together with the Lions Club of Galle Karapitiya, carried out a successful beach cleanup and awareness program with the guidance and support of the Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management.
This collaborative initiative aimed to highlight the importance of protecting coastal areas and preserving marine life. Students, teachers, parents and Lions Club members actively participated in cleaning the beach and engaging in educational activities focused on coastal conservation. The program not only helped remove harmful waste from the shoreline but also educated participants and the wider community on the vital role healthy coastlines play in maintaining marine ecosystems.
This event stands as a strong example of community-driven environmental action, promoting responsibility and awareness for future generations.
