Vision Support Program :Providing Vision Tests and Eyewear to School Children

This project aims to improve vision health among students, benefiting 12 students in grades 1 to 11 by providing necessary eye care services. The project involved conducting eye tests at Piliyandala Chanaka Jayasinghe Opticians on 18/07/2024 and distributing eyeglasses to those in need on the project day. The project was executed with a budget of Rs 102,000. The expected outcomes include improved academic performance and overall well-being.

School Uniform Aid Program: Distributing 205 Uniform Vouchers to Support School Children

The School Uniform Aid Project provided 205 uniform vouchers to underprivileged children, ensuring they have the necessary attire for school. This initiative supports educational equity by removing financial barriers to proper school clothing cost of Rs.205 000.The Governor and other esteemed guests presented few vouchers as a symbolic gesture.

School Garden Enhancement: Incorporating Herbal Plants into the School Garden

This project focused on planting herbal plants in the school garden, providing students with hands-on experience in gardening. It aims to educate them about the importance of herbs, promote sustainability, and enhance the school environment by offering practical, eco-friendly learning opportunities. The project was executed with a total budget of Rs.6,000, resulting in the planting of 20 herbal plants. The Governor and other esteemed guests planted a few plants as a symbolic gesture.

the three Lions Clubs in Galle had a wonderful event planting 15 jackfruit trees! With the Governor, Lion Prasad Gamage, in attendance, it must have been a significant occasion. The fact that 10 members from the Galle Akmeemana Centennial Lions Club participated highlights the strong involvement and commitment from the clubs. This project was held from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00p.m. then lion hours 10*8= 80
