In October 1st for the World Elderly Day, we were able to spend a few hours with 70 seniors and Main Sister and staff at the Van Reeth Nursing Home feeding them dinner and singing and dancing with them. It's a wonderful evening with those innocent parents and theirs hubble request to continue it as last year we did.

A donation of hospital equipment, including 15 scientific beds and cupboards (valued at 21 150 000LKR), along with various other essential items, was received from Germany and distributed to public hospitals in the Southern Province, especially benefiting Sinhaloka hospital in the Sinha District. The project was chaired by Lion Methsiri De Silva, with special guest participation from Southern Province Governor Lakshman Yapa Abeywardhene. District Governor Lion Prasad Gamage and First Lady Lion Nimna Dodamgoda also attended, alongside cabinet officers Lion Vipul Jayarathne, Lion Mangala Perera, Lion Vikum Wijedasa, Lion Nilan Chanda Pathirana, and Lion Premajayantha Dissanayake. Region 8 Chairperson Lion Nishantha Rumesh Gamage, Zone Chairpersons Lion Raveendra Prasad and Lion Upul Chandrasekara, and Treasurer Lion Jayanthi Haputhanthri were present. Lions Sarath Neelakumara, Chaminda Godakanda, A.V. Jayathissa, and Ranjith Jayathileke contributed significantly to the event’s success.

On September 30, a community support event was organized at Galle Dharmapala Udyana to celebrate Loka Lama Dinaya, focusing on aiding over 100 children affected by various adversities. The program aimed to provide essential resources and support, enhancing the well-being of these children. The event was chaired by Region 8 Zone 1 Chairperson Lion Upul Chandrasekara and ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Galle Legends Club generously contributed by providing assistance to the children and VIP guests in attendance. In celebration of World Elder's day a community program titled "Senehase Nawathana" was organized in Galle Hapugala, focusing on providing meals and entertainment to local residents. Cricket Skills Development Program in Galle Samanalapitiya ground for students

The initiative aimed to enhance cricketing abilities and promote teamwork among the youth, featuring practical training sessions and workshops to teach essential techniques. The project was chaired by Lion Ranjith Jayalathileke, with support from Region 8 Zone 2 Chairperson Lion Raveendra Prasad, Lion Methsiri De Silva, Lion Swarnamala Jayathilake and Lion Chandima Hewawithana. The program was honored by the presence of special guest Galle Division SSP Mr. Kalum Thilakarathne, who emphasized the importance of sports in youth development.
