Vision for All: Free Eye Clinic and Spectacle Donation Initiative

The Lions Club is delighted to announce the successful completion of our Free Eye Clinic and Spectacle Donation Project, which is dedicated to providing essential eye care services to those in need. This initiative aimed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged individuals by offering free eye screenings and donating prescription spectacles. Thanks to the collective efforts of our volunteers, medical professionals, and generous donors, we have restored the gift of sight to many in our community. The Free Eye Clinic and Spectacle Donation Project reflects the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to serving those in need and fostering a stronger, healthier community. With the combined efforts of all involved, we have not only provided the gift of sight but have also built a sense of compassion and solidarity. As we move forward, we look forward to continuing our mission of service and making a positive impact in the lives of many more.

Project Sihina, organized by the Lions Club of Alubomulla in partnership with the Leo Club of Panadura Alubomulla, aimed to uplift and support mentally challenged students at Camila School, Mattegoda. Taking place on September 15th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the initiative focused on addressing the emotional and physical needs of over 48 students. During the planning phase, the team collaborated closely with school officials and mental health professionals to tailor activities to the unique needs of differently-abled students, ensuring a meaningful and lasting impact on the local community. Through this project, the clubs aimed to create an inclusive environment and promote awareness about mental health challenges.The day began with blessings from local monks, fostering an atmosphere of peace and compassion. Students were treated to a nourishing lunch, serving as a meaningful gesture of care and community. A key highlight of the event was a musical therapy session.

It was recorded as 2024 /06/28 when giving the letter from the school. I will inform the school about it and bring the letter with the changed date back to your attention.
