Clear Vision for a Brighter Future: Free Eye Screening CampBy lions Club of

In collaboration with Darshana Opticals in Matara, our club successfully conducted an eye screening program for 120 participants, consisting of family members of Primary Model School students. The initiative aimed to identify vision impairments and provide necessary referrals for further checkups. Participants with weak eyesight were guided toward obtaining prescription lenses and spectacles, ensuring they received the appropriate vision care. This project played a crucial role in raising awareness about eye health and addressing undiagnosed vision issues within the community. Many individuals were unaware of their eyesight problems, and through this initiative, they gained access to expert guidance and essential optical care. By providing early detection and necessary referrals, we reinforced our commitment to improving community health and well-being, ensuring better vision and a brighter future for all participants. |
Healthy Families, Brighter Futures: Free Medical Camp for School ParentsBy lions Club of

Our club successfully conducted a Health Awareness Project for the parents and family members of students from the school School, benefiting 120 participants with free medical checkups. The initiative was led by Dr. Harshana Erabeddagoda, a dedicated Lion member of our club, and his wife, also a doctor. The camp provided blood pressure and diabetes screenings, along with consultations for other ailments, referring patients for necessary tests and specialist care at no cost. This initiative significantly impacted the community, allowing participants to identify health concerns early and gain essential medical knowledge. Many attendees were unaware of their health conditions, and through this project, they received guidance on preventive care and treatment options. By offering accessible healthcare, we strengthened our commitment to the well-being of these families and reinforced the importance of regular health checkups for a healthier community. |
