On August 15, 2024, our Lions Club organized a heartfelt community service initiative to distribute LKR 3,000 worth of food supplies to 12 selected underprivileged families. This compassionate effort aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by these families, providing them with essential food items to help meet their basic needs. The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including District Governor Lion Prasad Gamage, Region 8 Chairperson Lion Nishantha Romesh, and Zone 2 Chairperson Lion Raweendra Prasad. We were also joined by Cabinet Officer Lion Vipul Jayaratne, Ladies Committee member Lion Sagarika Jayaratne, Region 8 Treasurer Lion Jayanthi Haputhanthri, and President of the Lions Club of Galle Royalty Lion Amara Diwakara Liyanarachchi. This initiative not only provided crucial supplies but also fostered a spirit of community and collaboration, demonstrating the Lions' commitment to serving those in need.

Jithya Senali is a student of Panadura Wekada Bauddhaloka Vidyalaya, requested financial assistance for her studies since she lost her father suddenly. We communicated with Mr Ruchira Bandara and he agreed to give his hands to this student and since then he injected funds to Jithya Senali's mothers' account through our project account maintained at BOC Bandaragama. Letter confirmed by the President & Secretary of L/C Weedagama uploaded. I ALWAYS USE THE SPACE PROVIDED BY THE SYSTEM FOR ATTACHING SUCH LETTERS. THEFORE PLEASE REFER THE ATTACHMENT. Organized an Advisory program to be conducted by Mr Devapriya - Agricultural Instructor of Baduraliya on Home Gardening, making Compose at home and importance of hygienic vegetables & fruits and how to grow them and precautions from insects. Specially designed Leaflets also distributed by Lion Dandeniya to all those participants & audiences.
