Mock Examination for Children who preparing for Grade 5 Scholarship Examination

Conducted a mock examination for the children of Pathahawatta Swarnajothi Maha Vidyalaya, Weedagama Lokapila Primary School, Weedagama Primary School, Gungamuwa Primary School and Kamburugoda Primary School who will sit for the Grade 5 scholarship examination. The lecturer was the famous teacher of Mihidu Maha Vidyalaya, Mr. Priyantha Sirimewan. 159 students participated and District Governor gave a gift for each child. After the exam the lecturer personally evaluate the essay of each child and discussed the answers with children.

There are 15 homeless elders care home and this is the third time we visited them and last two time we have offered them breakfast and dinner . this time they asked for tea time refreshments and happily we have offered them the sweet items they asked for.

On 17th August we had our foster children and Project coordinator Lion Cyril Kariyawasam treated all the Finland foster care students as well as their guardians with an ice cream. They were so happy and was encouraged and felt they were cared by us.

Under the Siyak Siphal program Lions Club of Galle Royalty selected G/ Haupe Vidyalaya, Imaduwa. Primary section 67 and up to advance level 94 childrens are available. Project Chairman's are Lion Chandima Hewavithana and Lion Manjula Ruwanmalee. We had been donated 25 shoes and primary Children's shoes 19 psc . Pencil boxes, , Lunch boxes , school bags 05 , water bottles and Stationeries. Participation as below Lion Ranjith Jayathilaka ( future Builders cabinet officer) Zone Chairman, Region Treasure, Club President and 06 club members were participated, Mrs, Kusalani principal of college and staff members and few parents also participated to this session. Shoes donated by friends and colleagues worth of RS 50000.00 and School bags and Stationeries worth of Rs101750.00 donated.

Donation for Cause of Cancer

Dr Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake, Trustee of the Indira Cancer Trust - Hair Wig Project as the Guest of Honour at the club's monthly dinner meeting spoke about the Cancer Trust and it's services especially about the Cancer Hair Wig Project. The club donated a sum of Rs 300,000.00 towards the Hair Wig Project and the cheque was handed over to Dr Lanka. The donation was made possible by the courtesy of President Mitabi's son's organisation - Sinergen Lanka. Also prest at the meeting were PDG Paddy Withana and PDG Chandani Withana.

Care for Mental patients

The club donated 2 new wooden tables, 16 Plastic armchairs,cleaning equipment, clothes, medicines and lunch to the Freedom Home for destitute mental patients in Kelaniya. There are 18 male and 12 female inmates in that home. 12 Lins, Lion ladies,Lion prospect and others participated. Project Rs 155,000.00

Agriculture - Green Infinity

Programme on Agriculture Home Gardens for urban home. Project coordinator Lion Chandrani Ponnamperuma, was assisted by Lion Cyril Kariyawasam on this project. 23 beneficiaries were given 30 chilly plants, 15 Brinjal plants and 25 seed packets (Thampala leaves, Ladies fingers, Kankun, Brinjals and Chilly). The chilly and the brinjal pots cost Rs 80 each and 25 packet of seed was costing Rs 4375. 5 Lion members participated the project.
