![]() On February 4, at the Lunugamvehera Pradeshiya Sabha Auditorium in Hambantota, a welfare initiative was conducted to support underprivileged school children and women facing mobility challenges. A total of 50 school supply kits, including books and essential stationery, were distributed to 50 students from low-income backgrounds. Additionally, walkers, a wheelchair, and nutritious food packs were donated to assist women with mobility difficulties. Representing the Legends Lions Club, Club Treasurer Lion Ranjith Jayathileke actively participated in the event. Lion Jagath Weerasinghe, the elected president of the upcoming Lions District D8, also extended his support, accepting the invitation from the Legends Lions Club. The beneficiaries expressed their deep appreciation, making the initiative a meaningful and impactful effort. |

![]() On February 4, at Sathmina Colour Lab Karapitiya , Galle, a compassionate initiative took place to support a struggling mother from the Weerapaana area near Galle-Akurassa. Facing financial hardships, she was preparing for the birth of her second child. Based on medical recommendations, essential items, food, and nutritional supplies were donated to assist her. Additionally, school books and necessary educational materials were provided for her elder child. This generous contribution was personally funded by Lion Rasika Wimali, an active member of the Legends Lions Club. The mother and child expressed deep gratitude, finding immense relief and happiness through this act of kindness. The essential maternity supplies will greatly ease her upcoming childbirth experience. A total of three Lions participated in this heartfelt initiative, reaffirming the club’s commitment to community welfare. |
