![]() On April 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the Legends Lions Club organized a special awareness project at Akura Educational Institute, Galle, to educate approximately 100 parents of O/L students on making informed academic and personal decisions for their children. The session covered A/L subject selection based on students' interests and future aspirations, along with guidance on securing their well-being and proper supervision. Expert insights were shared by a psychologist, a medical student, and a media professional, while Lions Club President Lion Methsiri de Silva conducted a special session on personality development. Participants also received refreshments, including cake and milk packets, with a total expenditure of Rs. 19,400 covered by the Legends Lions Club. The event was attended by Region 8 Zone 2 President Lion Ravindra Prasad, Charter President Lion Ranjith Jayathileke, Club President Lion Methsiri de Silva, and other key members, ensuring its success and impact. |

![]() The special education teacher is conducting social development and educational support training three days per week at Pragathi. She works from 8.30am to 4.00pm and covering one on one training for kids with ASD, CVI, LD and Downs syndrome kids and their parents. Introducing fine and gross motor skills and correct orientations are taught to develop / rehabilitate them to be in normal society. She has covered 83 hours of work and have trained 112 students. Dr Malathi from Vanni Hope Australia is sponsoring her allowance of Rs 35,000 |

![]() Lions Club of Galupura Central encourage holistic education and support to develop centres like Pragathi to be in global standards. Pragathi provide development for 620 kids with neuro deformities, Autism, downs and hyper active. There are three doctors who serve the unit who teach young medical students of Medical faculty Karapitiya Galle on weekly basis. We believe they will do a better and advance methods of learning teaching all these categories by using the smart board reaching the most updated methodologies used in the global platform. The smart board, the keyboard, mouse and the UPS cost Rs 650,000 and was donated by Dr Nage Nagendran through Vanni Hope.
