Prevention of Drug Abuse

As the last step of the 31st Annual essay competition we conducted an award ceremoney and awaness session on the topic of Prevention of Drug Abuse. All resource persons shared their experience for those who joined on that day and we recognized 15 school children who has won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place from all 3 langulages(Engish, Tamil and Sinhala) by giving cash prices as well as medals. Miracle Steps is a walk and a run organized by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with Lions Club of Dehiwala North making a bigger impact in the fight against childhood cancer. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Hospital to aid in pediatric cancer treatment and care.

Region Project on Mobile Phone Awareness for Kids

As our final project for April 2025, we conducted a special awareness session for Grade 2 to Grade 5 students at St. Anthony's Balika Vidyalaya on how to prevent mobile phone addiction and misuse. The session was led by an expert lecturer, and the children were highly engaged throughout. Over 110 students participated! A heartfelt thank you to Lion Kanachana Udulagama Lions Club Of Colombo west for organizing this impactful project. This was conducted as a Region 01 project with the participation of: Lion Mitabi, President, Lions Club of Colombo Havelock Town Lion Anoma, President, Lions Club of Dehiwela Legends Lion Ranjith Kodikara and Lion Manel, Lions Club of Colombo West Lion Nalini, Special thanks also to Lion Shirani and Lion Dewduni for their valuable contributions. All students received milk packets and snacks, and we also gifted tokens of appreciation to the teachers and the lecturer.
