Every year, 25 adults receiving social welfare grants from the Hittetiya post office are given a parcel of dry rations valued at approximately two thousand rupees each with a treatment of refreshments in the morning. The project was initiated by Lion Neville Godevitharana of the Lions Club of Akuressa Legends and our contribution is made in August or September every year.

This project was organized to provide reading glasses to senior citizens of Devamiththa Darmapala senior citizen organization on their request made to the Lion Saman Liyanage GST coordinator. Sixty-five adults were given spectacles as per the prescription issued by the optician. The project was sponsored by the Project funds of the Lions Club of Matara Rahula.

Tree Planting Project

Project implemented under the IMAGE of District Governor`s five wings concept in the lionistic year 2024-2025. Lion Upali Subasingha organized this project as Project Chairperson with the corporation of Rural Development Society of Kirimetimulla North. Rural Development Officer of Kirimetimulla North Division, Gram Niladhari of Kirimetimulla North, Economic Development Officer of Kirimetimulla North, and 15 members of RDS also joined with the Lions to make this event successful. More than 100 Kumbuk and Mee trees were planted on this day on the canal banks of Kadduwa sector of the Irrigation system. .

Donation of a Wheelchair to Support a Dedicated Mother in Need

On 20th November 2024, from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM, a meaningful act of kindness was carried out in Galle, Makuluwa, Udugama. A wheelchair, valued at LKR 65,000, was donated to a mother who has been struggling with immobility for an extended period. This initiative aimed to ease her daily challenges and improve her quality of life by providing her with the necessary support and mobility. Two Lions participated in this heartfelt project, dedicating their time to ensure the success of this noble cause.
