Parallel to the CleanUp Sri Lanka islandwide project, this project was implemented under the guidance of Lion Prasad Gamage, DG of 306A2, Lions Club of Matara Rahula, Lions Club Matara, and Leo clubs of Matara School children, their parents, and well-wishers. Most of our club members joined the project with their spouses and children. specially joined the Children of Finland foster parent scholarship program with their guardians. Additional District Secretary of the Matara district secretariat Mrs. Lakmali Ransika Thenuwara also participated as an invitee. A stretch of more than 1 km of the beach was cleaned removing all non-degradable debris including bottles cans bags and many items. This was a successful project done in the recent past.
