On August 3, 2024, the "Diriya Liya" initiative was launched to provide financial assistance through the MAF scheme to 53 women entrepreneurs. This program aims to empower women by supporting their business ventures, fostering growth, and ensuring sustainable development.
The event saw the participation of several distinguished guests, including Region 8 Chairman Lion Nishantha Rumesh Gamage, Cabinet Officer Lion Vipul Jayarathne, Legends Lion Club Past President Sinha Ranjith Jayathilake, Legends Lion Club President Lion Methsiri De Silva, and Lion Secretary Manjula Kumari Kaluarachchi.
