As a second act of compassion, the Galle Legends Lions Club provided financial assistance to H.M. Padmasiri and his family, following the earlier donation of a wheelchair. A total of Rs. 9,000 was donated—Rs. 3,000 each by Lion Methsiri de Silva, Lion Treasurer Chaminda Godakandage, and Lion Suranga Raajamanthri—to support the family's urgent needs for food and medicine. Additionally, recognizing the educational aspirations of Padmasiri’s daughters, the club awarded scholarships to both: one pursuing legal studies in Colombo and the other preparing for her Advanced Level examinations. This thoughtful gesture brought immense relief and joy to the entire family, including Padmasiri’s wife. The family expressed heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the Lions’ continued support as not only financial aid but a symbol of love and care. The initiative stands as a proud reflection of the club's dedication to meaningful service and long-term impact.
