On April 24, the Galle Legends Lions Club donated a wheelchair to H.M. Padmasiri, a 60-year-old father residing at No. 25/V, Gulugahawatta, Labuduwa, Galle. Padmasiri, a former laborer, has been rendered immobile due to severe injuries to both legs and his back, and is now fully dependent on others for daily care. Upon learning of his urgent need, the club stepped in to provide a wheelchair, offering him not only comfort and mobility but also dignity. His elder daughter is pursuing higher studies at the University of Colombo, while the younger is preparing for advanced level examinations. This donation, facilitated with the support of Lion M.K. Agith Pushpakumara, President of the Galle Akmeemana Sentinels Lions Club, was a touching reflection of the Lions' commitment to humanitarian service. The family expressed deep gratitude, highlighting how the gift eased transportation for treatment and day-to-day life.
