On April 12, from 9 AM to 1 PM at Texas Higher Education Institute, Galle, a heartfelt Lions project was held to support 26 children undergoing cancer treatment at Karapitiya Hospital. Each child received Rs. 5,000 for essential medicine and nutrition, while refreshments and care packs worth Rs. 7,800 were provided for their accompanying parents. The total donation amounted to Rs. 147,840. The event included musical entertainment, bringing moments of joy to children facing immense physical and emotional hardship. Most come from low-income families and struggle not only with illness but with accessing basic education and care. This initiative, funded by Lion Stanley Liyanage along with Lions Methsiri and Chaminda Godakanda, brought hope and relief. The presence of 16 Lion Cabinet Officers including Lion Governor Elect Jagath Weerasinghe and several regional leaders marked the significance of the project, earning deep appreciation from the children and their families.
