The Bellanthudawa Royal Ladies Lions Club recently carried out a special project to help women in our community learn new skills and become more independent.
This project focused on training women to sew handbags, giving them a chance to learn a useful skill that can help them earn an income from home. Ten women took part in this training, which was a hands-on and supportive learning experience. The training sessions were held at Lion Krishanthi’s home in Ramukkana, Bandaragama, which provided a warm and welcoming space for everyone to work and learn together. We believe that even small steps like this can lead to big changes in the lives of women. By helping them build their confidence and learn practical skills, we hope to see them start their own small businesses or support their families financially. This was one of the many meaningful service projects carried out by our club, and we are proud to continue working towards women’s empowerment and community development.
