The 306/A2 Lion District, under the patronage of Lion Governor Prasad Gamage and First Lady Lion Nimna Dodamgoda, successfully organized a special initiative in celebration of World Women’s Day at Matara Samanmalgrand Rockland Reception Hall on March 8. Led by Lion Manjula Kaluarachchi, the event brought together 27 Lions and 100 expectant mothers, providing essential support and education. With DFCC Bank’s sponsorship of Rs. 100,000, along with contributions from Chandanalepa and Vision Care, participants received maternal care packages, skincare products, and eye checkups. Additionally, Aasiri and Matara Hospitals conducted informative sessions on maternal health. The project highlighted the importance of maternal well-being, fostering community support and empowerment. (The missing bills include Rs. 3,000 for invitation artwork charges and Rs. 7,800 + Rs. 4,750 for transport charges. Additionally, Rs. 5,000 was given to a mother who became helpless during the festival.)
