We built a new house, spending over 4 million rupees, for a poor family who had been living in a slum in the Rambukkana area. The house was handed over on 12th February 2025.
The house features two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a portico. The main sponsors were Lion Gamini Wanniarachchi and his wife, Lion Lady Inoka Sarojani.
The house handover ceremony took place on 12th February 2025. PDG Kumudu Kithsiri attended as the chief guest, along with Lion Gamini Wanniarachchi and his Lion Lady, Club President Thushara De Silva and several club members.
Note: I discussed this matter with the District Governor following the initial rejection of approval. The Governor advised that only the bills related to expenses incurred during the current Lions year should be submitted. Accordingly, I have attached only the bills that were available and could be obtained from the suppliers. Therefore, I am reporting only the amount that pertains to this Lions year.
