Empowering Mothers and Children: A Day of Care and Wellness

The Garbhani Maathawan Wenuwen Amma Saha Daruwata Wasanawantha Heta Dawasak program, held on December 6, 2024, at the Galle Kaluwella Jathyanthara Bauddha Madhyasthana Shalawedi, aimed to empower mothers and promote the well-being of both mothers and children. The event, running from 9 AM to 1 PM, included a lecture on maintaining beauty post-childbirth, tips on a healthy delivery, and advice on fostering the health of both mother and child after birth. A total of 263 mothers participated in the event, receiving nourishing food packs and beauty care products, sponsored by Chandanalepa Company Sri Lanka. The sponsored value for the products was LKR 1250 per participant, amounting to LKR 328,750. The program, valued at LKR 67,750 for the Lions' contributions, provided essential support to mothers, ensuring their confidence and care during a crucial stage in life. Special guests included D8 District Elected Governor Lion Jagath Weerasinghe and the Zone Chairperson.

Ape Hadawath Samai: Empowering the Future of Differently-Abled Communities

The Ape Hadawath Samai program, held on December 5, 2024, at the Weligama Hela Beem Sri Lanka Abaditha Punuruththapana Madyasthanaya, was a transformative initiative dedicated to uplifting and empowering disabled children. This remarkable event, valued at LKR 82,200, united 88 participants, including 20 Lions, students, and community members, to foster inclusivity and compassion. The program featured a series of impactful activities aimed at fostering empowerment and inclusivity within the youth and disabled communities. The event included motivational lectures and skill development sessions to enhance the capabilities of participants. As a symbolic gesture of sustainability, District Governor Lion Prasad Gamage led the planting of two trees. Additionally, essential gifts were distributed to all attendees, including food and other necessities, ensuring their well-being and participation. The program concluded with a musical session, creating a joyful and engaging atmosphere.
