Children's Day Celebration

Under the theme "Let’s Protect Children, Let’s Care for Them," the Madurawala Lion Club celebrated World Children's Day on October 1st by providing lunch and snacks to the children and staff at Sri Sarananda Primary School. They also donated a stage backdrop to the school, which had been lacking. The children and teachers presented songs and dances, successfully celebrating World Children's Day.

The total scholarship disbursement amounts to Rs. 49,500. The breakdown is as follows: Rs. 2,500 per student for 3 students: Rs. 7,500 Rs. 2,000 per student for 7 students: Rs. 14,000 Rs. 1,500 per student for 6 students: Rs. 9,000 Rs. 1,000 per student for 16 students: Rs. 16,000 Rs. 750 per student for 4 students: Rs. 3,000 The project is chaired by our veteran Lion Chitral Jayawardena, who has successfully arranged sponsorships through his close relatives in Australia. We carry out this project through our Help-A-Student Account at People’s Bank, Kirulapona Branch (Account No: 319-1-001-9-1141096). This has been our signature project for nearly 10 years.
