Address on the Importance of Sanitation and Provision of Sanitation Units for Schoolgirls - 2
Galle Aththiligoda Sudharshi Vidyalaya

A sanitation project focused on improving facilities for schoolgirls at Aththiligoda Sudharshi Vidyalaya was held from 11:15 AM to 1:30 PM. Led by Senior Cabinet Officer and Prison Commissioner Lion Jagath Weerasaighe and the HER Foundation, the event included 12 Lions, Zone Chairperson Lion Raveendra Prasad, Project Chairman Lion Methsiri De Silva, and special guest Lion Upul Chandrasekara from Region 8 Zone 1. The Lions Club of Galle Pinnaduwa, under president Lion Nimanthi Jayasinghe, contributed to the initiative. Each of the 138 students received a parcel worth 180 LKR, totaling 24,840 LKR, generously donated by the HER Foundation. The project engaged 138 girl students and 24 staff members, including the principal and deputy principal. It aimed to enhance hygiene conditions at the school by providing improved sanitation facilities for female students, promoting better hygiene practices, and ensuring a healthier environment for their overall well-being and academic experience.

Galle Kithulampitiya Ananda Vidyalaya

A sanitation project aimed at supporting schoolgirl students at Galle Kithulampitiya Ananda Vidyalaya was conducted from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, under the leadership of Senior Cabinet Officer and Prison Commissioner, Lion Jagath Weerasaighe, in collaboration with the HER Foundation. The initiative was organized with the participation of 10 Lions, including Health Officer Dilashini from Northern Colombo, and with the support of Anjali Nelson, Managing Director of the HEMAS Group. Lion Methsiri de Silva, President of the Galle Legends Club, served as the project chairman. Around 110 schoolgirls and 22 school staff members were engaged in the project, which focused on improving hygiene and sanitation conditions by providing dedicated facilities for female students. The initiative aimed to enhance the health, well-being, and comfort of the students, promoting better learning conditions and awareness of sanitation practices.
