The Lions Club hosted a Spectacle Donation Session on February 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Galle Meepawala Sanasa Hall. This event aims to provide free spectacles to individuals in need, improving their vision and quality of life. The session will include vision assessments, followed by the distribution of glasses to those with visual impairments. Supported by Lions Club leaders, including Region 8 Zone 1 President Lion Upul Chandrasiri and Elect D8 District 1st Co-President Lion Ravi Kalansooriya, the initiative will benefit over 200 individuals. The event is part of the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to supporting community health and well-being, ensuring that everyone has access to the vision care they deserve.

Event: Ayurvedic Plants Dontation Session

The Ayurvedic Health Session, organized by the Lions Club, will be held on February 1, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Galle Meepawala Sanasa Hall. The session aims to educate attendees on the healing benefits of Ayurveda, focusing on how its practices can improve overall health and wellness. Experienced Ayurvedic professionals will share valuable insights into natural remedies for health, illness prevention, and long-term well-being. The event will be supported by Region 8 Zone 1 President Lion Upul Chandrasiri, Elect D8 Lion District 1st Co-President Lion Ravi Kalansooriya, and other Lions leaders, including over 20 Lions from various social organizations. This gathering will also foster unity and collaboration within the Lion community. Participants will gain practical advice on incorporating Ayurvedic principles into their daily lives for better physical and mental health.

Galle Legends Lions Club Blood Donation Drive at Meepawala Sanasa Hall

On February 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Galle Legends Lions Club organized a Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with Galle German Mithrathwa Maathru Hospital at the Meepawala Sanasa Hall. A total of 56 donors participated, contributing to a 56-unit blood donation. This event saw the active participation of various members, including family, friends, and the local community. Donors received refreshments such as milk, cake, and food to express gratitude. Notably, Region 8 Zone 2 President Lion Upul Chandrashekara donated blood as a symbol of support. The event's success was a collective effort led by Elect District First Lion Co-President Lion Ravi Kalansooriya, Cabinet Officers, and Legends Lions Club Members like Lion Methsiri De Silva, Lion Ranjith Jayathileke, and others, further strengthening the spirit of community service.

The event was attended by over 50 sales representatives, providing them with valuable insights into professional growth, client engagement, and service excellence. The session focused on enhancing their understanding of career progression, customer attraction, and job performance strategies. Participants gained a deeper awareness of their roles and responsibilities, leading to greater job satisfaction and motivation. Additionally, discussions were held on Sinha philosophy, further educating attendees while fostering their professional and personal development.

The District Lions Fellowship Program was successfully conducted from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, fostering friendship and unity among all Lions members and their families. Representing the Sinha Society, five members participated with their families, actively engaging in this meaningful event. This initiative significantly enhanced camaraderie and collaboration among attendees. The program featured various entertaining activities, competitions with prizes, and special recreational events, creating enjoyable experiences for all. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to socialize and build stronger connections, making the gathering even more impactful. A delightful and well-prepared meal was provided, ensuring a memorable experience. A large number of Lions members from across the district took part, making this event a great success.

Blessings for a Prosperous Leadership: Ashirwadha Bodhi Pooja 2024

On July 2, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, an auspicious Ashirwadha Bodhi Pooja was conducted at Galle Kachchuwatta Sri Deepa Duththaarama Viharaya to invoke blessings for the success of all endeavors under the leadership of Nawa Sinhadipathi Thuma during the 2024-2025 Lion Year. This sacred event was sponsored by the Sinha Societies of Pradeshiya Divisions 8 and 9 and saw the participation of approximately 90 attendees. The ceremony was graced by Sinhaadhipathi Sinha Prasad Gamage, First Sinha Lady Lion Nimna Dodamgoda, and a significant number of Cabinet officials. As part of the religious offerings, a monetary Pirikara donation of Rs. 10,000 was respectfully presented to the Swamin Wahansa. Prayers were offered for the success and prosperity of all lion members, seeking the divine blessings of Lord Buddha and the deities for the year ahead.
